What is a data platform?

How is this different from our BI or reporting setup?
Reporting reads the data. This is the foundation underneath it, extended to serve machine learning and AI from the same governed source.
Can it handle unstructured data?
Yes. Documents, text, and other unstructured sources are unified and made retrievable, so agents and models can use them safely.
Do you lock us into one vendor?
No. We build on open table formats and hand over all code. You keep genuine choice across Azure, AWS, Databricks, and Fabric.
What about governance and sovereignty?
Lineage, access, and policy are part of the build, ready for audit, the EU AI Act, and data-residency requirements.
We already have a data warehouse. Do we start over?
